Circus
Whew.... ! ready for a break?
OK, so this month has turned out to be pretty busy so far... which isn't bad/ but is very tiring lol. pretty much every night for the past couple weeks I have been finding myself falling in bed and just crashing where I fall.. no getting comfortable first involved lol. Here is what we have been up to... I'm not sure how im going to separate posts and what not yet so it might be a little messy :P
Thursday - June 9th- flew back to Colorado :) YAY
Friday - June 10th - driving around running errands taking care of stuff like rental car and going up to Idaho Springs to get settled in
Saturday- June 11th- Was going to be a day to relax but we found ourselves first driving all the way down to Highlands Ranch to see a movie, then driving to Parker for Parker days.. I'm sorry i didn't get any pictures from that, then from there we went to hang out with Stevens friends at the Littleton Block Party and the driving all the way back up to the mountains. by the time we got "home" we were both super tired.
Sunday- June 12th- We drove back down to visit with my Aunt Nancy for a bit, we got to see my uncle too but he was pretty busy because he just got back from a hiking trip. Then we drove out to Elizabeth to visit my parents and chatted a while, and from there we drove back to Parker to meet up with Mikel and Caitlin, where we drove down to Colorado Springs for the circus.
Monday- June 13th - Ok so Monday we decided that was going to be our lazy day and just sleep and relax all day, but instead we ended up still driving down to go see a movie or something like that and then grocery shopping and ended our day relaxing... a little... lol
Tuesday - June 14th - RELAX? think again..! lol Steven and I felt like we were being too idle...? so we spent most of the day doing chores around the house and cleaning out the garage and re organizing it and everything. Hope you don't mind Kirk :)
Wednesday- June 15th - we spent that morning still cleaning, I cleaned the upstaires living room, dusting vacuuming and such, it took a while.. and Steven was outside messing in the garage some more and ended up cutting down a tree that was in the way outside lol. Steven was going to go to a firefighters meeting with Kirk that evening but instead we ended up driving down to Highlands Ranch because Red Robin was calling my name for dinner :P
Thurday- June 16th - we woke up kinda early and met up with a church friend in the Cherry Creek area, then we drove up to Castle Rock to pay a bill we almost forgot about oops :P. then we drove down to Littleton to pick up Mama Jo and from there we went to lunch and then the Army Surplus store and JoAnn's to get some crafty stuff and then back up to Idaho Springs where Mama Jo and Steven and I spent the rest of the evening playing with a sewing machine and helping me figure out how to make a camo diaper bag :) untill Kirk met us up there, we had dinner at the house and then they left and Steven and I went to bed lol.
FRIDAY! - June 17th - we started Friday with no plans, so we went down yet again to see another movie in Highlands Ranch, after that was over we were invited to my friend Amanda and Brad's rehersal dinner, so we ended up driving back up to the Elizabeth area for that, had some awesome food and visited. and still didn't get home till about 9ish.
Saturday - June 18th Wedding day! We made plans to go see Mr Poppers penguins with Mikel on Sat morning but the movie was late so we ended up having to leave about 10 min before it was over, so we rushed to a gas station to change clothes and drove up to Amanda and Brad's wedding, it was absolutely beautifull! we had accidentaly over booked our Saturday, and had to leave the reception early SORRY AMANDA! from the wedding we once again met Mikel and Caitlin in Parker and drove up to the Colorado National Speedway to watch the races, some more of Stevens old friends from AMC met us up there and we had a bunch of fun. That night we didn't get back home untill about 12
Sunday - June 19th - Happy Fathers Day! On Sunday Steven and I drove down to Elizabeth because a good friend of our family was ordained as a priest Sat and Sunday was his first mass! so we went to Mass at noon. then a church BBQ to celebrate afterward, we left the BBQ a little early and went back to my parents house to visit with my dad and mom and Michael and Sabrina and the kids stopped by for a little bit too. we actually got back home early on sunday about 8 pm which gave us a little while to relax before bed :)
Monday - June 20th - we got up early to meet with another friend/acquaintance in Castle Rock, then went to enterprise because we had forgotten the garage door opener in the rental car we returned on Friday, (were just borrowing family cars now) Then to the Sprint store because my phone quit working right. and then over to Aprils, where we spent pretty much the whole day visiting and April and Mama Jo helped me almost finish my diaper bag! all i have left is the straps and to put on the front pocket flaps :) then we went to pick up my phone, they had to just replace it because they couldn't fix it, and to the mall with Mikel and Caitlin and David to get a new phone case because spring broke mine grrr... then we all went to Buffalo Wild Wings for dinner :) it was yummy, and kinda funny to watch David try to eat some of the more spicy wings :P. (that was last night) I barely got my pj's on before i feel asleep when we got home last night.
Tuesday - June 21st - well its still a little early in the morning and we don't have a whole lot planned but Steven is already outside messing with something, and I have to go get ready because I have a doctors appointment this morning, JOY.... NOT, I get to meet yet again another doctor, just to get a referral to go to an OB/GYN in town since im due to have a baby soon, if you didn't forget :P . Our insurance transferred my Primary Care Manager to a family practice out here in Idaho springs, but they are just general practitioners or whatever so I still have to meet with them today and do the first doc appointment thing, so i can get a referral to go somewhere else where they can actually help me baby wise, lame!
Who knows whats in store for the rest of the week hopefully it will be a little more easy going, but i think Mikel already wants to see if we can go to the lake this afternoon if the weather is nice.. lol.

will it look this good? (part 3 of the yarn box saga)
So I found this pattern thats supposed to look this nice without being super complicated, Seeing as I am working with what I have in effort to size down my yarn stash not buy more, mine wont be near as big and I changed up the pattern a bit to how I want to knit it. but the question is... will it look this good? I guess we will see when its done.

Craft Box part 2...
well, now its more of just a big storage tub full of yarn but I figured id post to show what ive been working with... I wonder what will come of this mystery box of string, any ideas? oh and Max says hi too :p

Cleaning out the "Craft Box"
I keep dragging Steven to every craft section of every store we go to, and decided that if im actually wanting to start something/buy some more crafty stuff I have to shorten the not done yet pile in the dining room, and maybe get rid of some of the stuff in my "craft box" which is mostly just a bunch of yarn lol. Anyway, Finnaly after 10 years! yes its really been that long, I dug out an old latch hook and finished it. It was the biggest single item taking up space, and thought maybe it would be a good decoration if I ever set up a "baby room"
up next: paint by numbers, they have been sitting on our dinning room table for a few weeks now.

Mini Vacation (the short version)
1. Vacation Was Great
2. I will do everything in my power to avoid Atlanta airport from now on
3. Avis Sucks they will lie and cheat you out of your money
4. Enterprise Rocks they give you as many discounts as possible
5. Days Inn Rocks too, awesome room and service for a low price
6. The Wedding was Amazing and we had a ton of fun!
7. It was really great to spend so much time with all of our friends and family, especially around or on Moms day!
8. The baby shower was awesome and fun too! sorry we showed up late, and thank you everyone who attended! I was delighted and surprised so many of you took the time out of your busy week days to be there :)
9. Im sorry if I might have been a little grumpy, I blame hormones and a lack of sleep :p
I don't blame you for not reading all of that long post, lol , that was pretty much my need to get it all out there and most of you know it all anyway.

Mini Vacation + some ranting and raving (The Long version)
We didn't get a whole lot of pictures because our memory card was full and i forgot to bring the card reader so i can put all the old pics on to my computer.. anyway here is how our trip started...
Friday the 6th - Steven is still at work and gets home around 10 am. packs his clothes, run to wallmart for a couple things, then drive to Stevens work to check out at 12. our flight was supposed to leave at 1:55 or something so we were in a hurry to leave strait from there to get to the airport in Jacksonville, but then our flight was delayed leaving us only about 10 min to catch our connecting flight in Atlanta... ha! ya right... we missed our flight of course and the next one didn't leave until about 8 ish or something, so we had about a 5 hour layover in Atlanta... that was fun ! and all we got for our trouble was a $6 meal voucher i was pretty upset and had a hormonal break down in the middle of the airport starting with me trying to beat Steven up and then me balling my eyes out because i was so mean to him lol. then he took me to dinner at the TGI Fridays they had there in the terminal or whatever. Then we started to watch a movie, and finally got on the plane and landed in Wichita KS at about 10:10 ish.. So I waited for the bags while Steven waited in line for the rental car.... once i got the bags i waited with Steven in line for about 30 min while listening to these 3 (non English speaking) guys try to argue with the car man and one of them trying to translate the best he could, it took FOREVER!!!!! Finally we got our car around 10:45 but we weren't to happy about it,
we had called in advance to make reservations and were quoted $450 for the whole week including tax and all. when we went to pick up the car we agreed to some of the "cheaper" insurance of about $17 a day. which brought the price up to about $600 and we were fine with that but then when the man slid our card and asked us to sign the receipt it was $890! and he said that was because of the taxes and the one way car rental fee, but the quote we had already had taxes and the extra fees in it. Neither Steven and I were in the mood to argue so we took the car and drove to Dodge City that night and checked in at about 2 AM. bleh, thats what you call a long day!
Sat the 7th- even after our super crazy/late/stresfull flight we ended up waking up around 6 am lol. so we went down to the continental breakfast ate, went back to the room, got ready waisted time on facebook etc, chatted with my parents for a while when they finally woke up, (we had planned to stay in the same motel) surprisingly the motel was really nice, We stayed at the Days Inn in Dodge City. the outside looked pretty sketchy but inside the buildings it was really nice, it was clean and we got even got a room with a new pillow top king size mattress :) they had a pool - which we got in to late to use. and their complimentary breakfast was good too with waffles and biscuits and gravy along with the normal stuff cereal, muffins, bananas... It was a good morning.. until I decided that my shirt made me look entirely too pregnant and made steven take me to walmart so i could get a new shirt before the wedding haha. Then we drove to Fowler visited with Aunt Bonita and Uncle Kevin for a while, and then went to my cousin Susan and Jeremy's wedding at 2, :) i thought it was a great wedding Susan was absolutely beautiful and the priests sermon was really good... and a little funny when he made a comment about how in marriage you need to be fruitful which shouldn't be a problem because both of the/our families were so "Prolific" hahahaaha that was entertaining. We had alot of fun getting to visit and see all of my family and relatives, it was cool because Steeve finally got to meet my family! and i got to meet stevens Aunt and Uncle in KS :) we stayed with them sat night and they were so nice to us! Thank you!Sunday the 8th- Happy mothers day! We got up pretty early and started our drive from Fowler back to CO, we were hoping that we might get back early enough to visit with Mama Jo for a while on Mothers day :) we got there a little after 2. the family got back from church around 4 ish and we had a great time visiting and Mikel and Kirk were nice enough to grill burgers for everyone for dinner, it was a pretty good day :)
Monday the 9th- we started out monday with the whole rental car fiasco, there was no way we were going to let them charge us over double what they had quoted us. so we went to Avis and returned our car with all sorts of complaing and ranting and raving (in a nice way) and the lady took the car back and to be nice put in that we had returned it on Sunday. so we got some of our money back anyway, but instead ended up getting charged our quoted price $450 for the 3 days we had the car rather than the 7 we wanted it for. Then we walked over to Enterprise and told them why we were there, and got an upgraded Luxury car for about $160 for the full 4 days. yay! Then we went out to Elizabeth to visit my parents my mom took the day off so she could spend time with us, so all 4 of us , mom, dad, me , steeve, went fishing out at Chatfield, my dad only caught one little scrawny trout, but it was fun to just hang out and enjoy the mountains and the sunburns and the geese and the lake and the whole experience:) it was a good day!
Tuesday 10th- we spend the first half of tuesday visiting stevens mom for a little and then stevens dad down in littleton, it was nice to just sit and chat. then the big baby shower on tuesday evening at 4! it was a blast, most of the ppl that were invited went and Terri and Ashley were awesome for throwing it for me, it was great to see everyone and actually get a chance to have a baby shower with my friends and family out in CO. After that we had pizza dinner with my family and Michael and Sabrina came over too to visit. I was really happy to see my brother, he wasn't able to go to the wedding and I wasn't sure if id get to see him since he works so much during the week.
Wednesday- whew a day of relaxing... well kinda.. we didn't have a whole lot planned for Wednesday but ended up filling it up anyway, we woke up and it was Snowing out! WOO! i love Colorado especially because of its crazy weather and snow! :) it pretty much made my whole trip, Steven and I went Maternity clothes shopping because they have absolutely nothing out here in NC. so i finally got a couple pairs of jeans and a couple shirts that should last me the next 3 months. We also visited with April and got to sit down and talk with her. It was nice to have a conversation with just the 3 of us and her babies without all the commotion of trying to visit with the whole family at once. Then we visited with Stevens dad and went to dinner with him and all of Steeves brothers and sisters at White Fence Farm, it was a nice dinner and evening, after we ate we walked around and enjoyed the whole atmosphere of the place including the slide and the animals and Mikel was playing pin ball. Steven and I left early because we still had packing to do and I was dead tired and a little (ok alot) grumpy, THANK YOU MIKEL! for letting us take your car home early :)
Thursday- 12th- we managed to get all of our clothes and baby shower gifts in just the two bags that we brought with us on the way out whew! we thought our flight left a little after 11 but after a second check on the itinerary we realized our flight didn't leave until a little after 1. oops, we had to have our car turned in by 8 or else wed be charged another day, so we got to hang out at DIA for a few hours lol. it wasn't bad, we went to the different concourses and found a place to get some ice cream and lunch and look around at the stupid shops. the flight wasn't bad either, well until we landed in Atlanta lol, for some reason they were messing with the cabin pressure during our landing, and it just about made everyone on the airplane sick, we were all a little green to the face by the time we walked off the plane, Which made Steven feel awful adding that to his already allergies. so during that layover he slept most of the time on the floor. thankfully none of our flights were delayed or had any problems. we got in to Jacksonville a little after 10, waited forever for our bags and got home at about 11:45. THANKS GREG for picking us up :) after all that I fell asleep almost instantly lol.
